The Duffs started in 1985 as a folk influenced trio
of Peter Franklin, Alex Pybus & Ian Staples, playing
self-penned songs build around
Pete Franklin’s lyrics. They were later joined by Peter Gardner.
The band were narrowboat
nomads living on the Oxford canal system.
Alex left, and was replaced by Jon Seagroatt,
consolidating a funkier, dance-based sound.
The Duffs disbanded in 1991.
